"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." ~John Muir

Bench Lakes

another week flew by here at Red Fish Lake Lodge! and it was an incredible week at that too :) this week at work we were deep cleaning all the cabins and oiling the wood. SO MUCH OILING. everything is made out of logs. log cabins, log chairs, log stairs, log railings, log bed frames, log walls, log ceilings, LOGS!!! lets just say i'm going to be buff this summer from all the use of my arms. doing be fooled folks, deep cleaning isn't for the faint of heart. you have to have courage man. but enough about all that jazz. what did i do for fun this week? let me tell you

the beginning of the week started off with a walk to Little Red Fish, which is about a mile and a little down the road from Red Fish Lake. its basically the same as Red Fish Lake, just the condensed version. no motor boats are permited onto Little Red Fish, that's how small it is.

This week was really busy with work, but I had some good times today (Saturday) with some of my new found friends! we hiked up to the Bench Lakes! the Bench Lakes consist of 4 lakes. today we were only able to get to the 1st Bench Lake because it was snow packed! it kinda sucked but it was still a blast! 3.5 in, and 3.5 out. 7 miles total. wasn't too back, a great warm up for the rest of the seasons hikes! I can't wait til all the snow melts and I can get to all the Bench Lakes

I get paid to do this!

Hello from the great outdoors of Idaho!! basically my life is the best EVER. I get to live in the glorious country here for 5 months of my life! and get paid to do it. talk about lucky. but lets not just talk about lucky, lets show off what lucky is!

This is home sweet home for the next few months. its a little rough around the edges but you should see the views. :)

this is what i see every day. and every time i see it, it takes my breath away. sigh...awesome!!

i took this picture while i was walking the beach this beautiful sabbath day.

this is the outlet of the lake. so you see how clear the water is??? DANG, thats beautiful

basically there is so much to do and see and photograph, i had to create a blog JUST for this experience. I've never been so happy, or full of energy. why you ask? because I'm doing what I love! being in the outdoors, and surrounded by Gods beauty.

I went on a hike up Fish Hook Creek, the trail head is just right outside my bungalo (little cabin thingy i sleep in)

These are photos of that hike
